Botanical Gardens in Montreal: Pictures, Hours & More

How to Best Enjoy Your Day at Montreal’s Botanical Gardens

While Montrealers all appreciate how vibrant and stimulating the city can be with its non-stop events, restaurants, and great shopping…we also love the idea that a walk through nature isn’t all that far away either. Montreal is home to some of the cleanest and most enjoyable parks of any city, and Montreal’s Botanical Gardens certainly has to be the crown jewel of that list.

Known as an ‘oasis in the heart of the city’, the Botanical Gardens will set you on a grand nature getaway with plenty evolving shows and events within the outdoor cultural gardens.

Here is a short list of some of the things to be enjoyed this fall as you take a day trip stroll through Montreal’s Botanical Gardens:

If you want to enjoy lunch in the park there is a picnic area selling light meals and snacks near the Insectarium and by the Montreal Botanical Garden’s Japanese Pavilion. Visitors who bring their own lunch can eat there as well as at the Montreal Botanical Garden’s snack bar as designated snacking areas of the gardens.

In the early fall you can enjoy tea ceremonies presentations and tastings at the Chinese and Japanese gardens. For those in the mood for something a little stronger, you can head out for cocktails in the park at the Botanical Garden’s Terrace for Cocktails and Cicadas. September 4 to 6, Montréal Space for Life and the Opéra de Montréal features the most beautiful arias of the 2014-2015 season during Cocktail Time with the Opéra de Montréal.

Grab a ticket to the Rio Tinto Alcan Planetarium and prepare to be visually stunned with amazing shows on all subjects astronomical. The planetarium’s constantly rotating schedule includes a number of fascinating interactive exhibits and immersive multimedia presentations that are sure to put a twinkle in your eye.

For those interested in visiting this fall, the gardens will hold the following schedule:

May 15, 2014 to September 1, 2014: 9 a.m. to 6 p.m., every day
September 2 to November 2, 2014: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m., every day
