Little Burgundy Lachine Canal

Originally named “Sainte Cunegonde”, Little Burgundy has become one of Montreal’s most trending neighborhoods due to an outburst of young professionals moving into the area. It is home to Montreal’s unique Atwater Market, jazz pubs, vintage shops and many of its fine restaurants. It is located southwest from downtown area, and you can access it by walking or biking on Notre-Dame Street from Old Montreal, getting off at the Lionel-Groulx metro station, or taking bus 36.

Burgundy Lion is one of Little Burgundy’s most renowned pubs. Its concept

is built around comfort with a modern twist, offering quality food, drinks, service and ambiance. The pub has become a trend for Montréalers and a go-to spot for the young professionals of the city.

Little Burgundy has been home to several talented jazz musicians and lively nightclubs. In fact, we have many furnished apartments located on 2700 Rufus Rockhead which is named after one of Montreal’s greatest nightclub “Rockhead’s Paradise”, previously owned my Rufus Rockhead. This is just one example of the neighborhood’s many jazz-influenced spots.

At the end of the street, you can find the Atwater Market where a multitude of various products such as fresh fruits and vegetables, meats, fish, specialty products and many more are available. It is conveniently located along the Lachine Canal bike path so that you can enjoy the market while on your bike ride.

Notre Dame West is the neighborhoods core where many restaurants and antique shops are. Joe Beef, Liverpool House and McKiernan are probably the most renowned restaurants of the area. In these trio restaurants, you will find English gastro and excellent wine lists – some of best food in the city is served.

There is no doubt as to why young professionals have moved into the area. It has a lot to offer being so close to downtown and having many places to enjoy themselves to relax on their time off.
